Capitol Reef and Zion National Park Elopement | Stacy and Daniel

This was a fun elopement because we got to do a multi-day adventure with them and show off both Capitol Reef and Zion National Parks- two places that offer and incredibly diverse landscape and experience as far as Utah national parks go.

When they first reached out to us, Stacy and Daniel wanted to elope in a Utah National Park, but they weren't sure which one. We went through all kinds of options between the Big 5 before they landed on Capitol Reef. Through the course of our planning, Stacy asked if we would be willing to plan a casual family day in Zion for them after their elopement and hang out and take candids. Tori is amazing at planning out trips, so she took the helm on that particular part of the planning. Tori put together lists of hikes with varying difficulties, activities, and recommendations for places to stay and eat. She compiled a comprehensive form to gauge their interest and then built an awesome itinerary for their family day in Zion!

The morning of their elopement, we met up with Stacy + Daniel to beginning our early morning hike to their first location. We hiked by the light of our headlamps and marveled at the canyon walls dimly lit by the nearly full moon. As the sun rose over the canyon, Stacy and Daniel shared their private vows in front an awe-inspiring arch. After their private vows and portraits, we began our walk back down to the cars. We found some much needed coffee and then met up with their family for their intimate ceremony performed by Daniel's brother. We originally had a couple more locations planned out for the rest of their day. Unfortunately, Dan came down with a cold on the trip out and wasn't feeling the best. So we decided it would be a good idea to get some rest and see how he felt in a few hours. We decided it would be best to keep it chill and switched up our evening plan to hit one final location. That's one of the best parts about eloping, it's all about the couple's experience. If you want to change up the day to take it a little slower, that is 100% ok! We finished our chill evening session and retired to our rooms to rest up.

We started off the family day in Zion on the Park Shuttles, headed into the Scenic Drive. We hiked the Emerald Pools trails, played in the water, and picnicked on the Lodge Lawn before hopping back on the shuttle to return to our cars. We finished out the day by hiking up to an iconic viewpoint that overlooks the Canyon and the switchbacks below to watch the sun set behind Zion's beautiful mountain peaks.

A few words from stacy + daniel

Kyle and Tori are absolutely amazing! I googled destination weddings and they were the first people I found and didn’t look any further. They made wedding planning a breeze. It was a stress free event and they were very go with the flow. I highly recommend them. They are experts on their known locations, and do research for anything else you may want to do. You ask…they deliver!
